Millie has found a new mummy and daddy :( she's moving tomorrow.
Her owner told me a little while back that its just too much with both horses and her important exams coming up and she was thinkin of gettin rid of her. We had first refusal but although she didn't want anything for her at all we just coudn't afford the upkeep of her and more importantly the time to spend with her, we had her only 3 days a week cos thats all we could do due to other commitments, I've not met her new owners but I know her present owner wouldn't let her go to just anyone, she said Millie really took to them so I'm happy that she'll be happy.
I'm kinda sad at the mo and am gonna really miss her but I know it was a hard decision for her owner to make and probably the right one for Millie in the long run, she's a gorgeous big lady and deserves a new mummy and daddy who will love her and bring her on.

don't think i'll find another like her, I doubt I'll look for another loan just yet but maybe in a few months or so, she was my dream horse (you prob guess by my name :D) I just wish I could have taken her on, but as long as she's happy though

Ooh and the lessons are goin ok, I'm riding a pretty lazy mare at the mo, she's a sweetie but extremley lazy, think I might ask for the first horse next time (the one I came off) he's so much easier to ride, but it feels good when I get some good work out of lazy mare :D

Aw, sorry to hear you are losing your part-share Shire Monster, but fantastic news that she has found a good home.
It was lovely for you to get some hands on experience and could only be a bonus if only for a short time. Something will come along for you you will see.
Enjoy your lessons in the meantime.

Oh, I'm really sorry to hear that.
Were you aware it was a possibility when you took her on?
I suppose at least she is going to a good home and will be happy.
At least you've still got the lessons. :)

ohh what a shame, at least in a way you got to experience ( abliet a short time) but ownership of a shire.
You made a good decission even when offered her free, that you didnt have the time to commit to her. Good on you x
Hope Millie is enjoying her new home to x If you hear any updates would love to hear how shes getting on.

no wasn't aware of possibility but i doubt very much her owner knew of the possibility either. If she could have kept her she would have. She is gutted herself but she's made the right decision for the big girl, millie will enjoy all the attention. Thanks denbenj I have been seriously questioning my own decision, I'd have probably found the money somewhere but the time is a massive factor, so I am pretty sure it was the right one ;)

cheers denbenj, might just take you up on that, I'd love to have a ride at the Cumbrian heavy horse place, one day I'll be back in the saddle of a gorgeous feathery chunk :D
lessons are goin ok ta, got a week off this week cos RI is off, but alls ok, been riding a much less forward goin horse since I came off, almost to the point of backwards  she's a sweetheart though even if she is flippin hard work, will prob be ridin her next time but might ask for the first boy again for the following week, bit wary of him after comin off but to be fair it wasn't his fault just one of them things :)

Just to let you all know on boxing day night Millie sadly passed away in her sleep just 1 month after her being signed over!! :( Everyone is really upset still as it came as such a shock!! Her new owners had her cremated and got the ashes back on the 2nd of January so that they always had her there to remember her by!! Sorry to Julie and Steve that you did not have the opportunity to come and say goodbye for the last time but thankyou both for all your help and we will never forget you!! :) ta xxx

Oh that's so sad! Hugs to all concerned - it was very sudden, what happened?

Not completely sure but it could have been colic that triggered off her narcolepsy (sp?) which would have eventually shut her brain down and she would have stopped breathing dying peacefully in her sleep and unaware of what happened!!! :'(
