It is my 4th riding lesson at 6:15 on Thursday, I had a lesson last Saturday but I wasn't sure if I wanted to tell you about it as I did terribly (have a video to prove it!)
I felt really ill with a horrible cold and found it really hard to concentrate, I was doing so badly I was on a lunge line all lesson! Whereas the two lessons before I had been off the line for at least half the lesson! I just couldn't get my brain to work and I was all over the place, my balance was terrible and my posture kept going wrong and I didn't have any control over Msity!
anyway, I hope my 4th lesson goes alot better I nede to practice saying things like: "staaand" instead of "stand" and "ter-ot on" instead of "trot on" :D

Hope you feel better - colds affect your ears and your balance so I am not surprised you had trouble.
The tone of voice is also important - "staaand" or "steaaady" are said calmingly.
"Walk on", "Trot on" or "Ter - rot" are said crisply with energy.
I have never heard of "Ter - ot on"

If you're not feeling well it can really throw off your riding. Try not to beat yourself up. I'm sure once you better you'll have a much better lesson:).
Everyone has off days every now and them.

the reason they say tre ot, is because its a high pitch sound which the horse responds to. and when you want to stop or go down a pace you should have a low sound so " aaannnnddddd waaaallllllkkkkkkk" if they makes sense
i hate riding with a cold and like chris said it effects your balance! so dont feel bad

Maybe photobucket would only upload abit of it, then it wouldn't be as long?
I'm not at school today, so I have time to rest before my lesson tonight :D I'll see about uploading the video, but it is truely terrible riding!

OMG it was amazing! We were in the outdoor arena today, despite the freezing wind It was the best lesson i ever had!
I felt alot moreconfident, I amanged to do a fast walk adn slow walk, rising trot, 20metre circles, change rein etc it was amazing, Misty kept snatching the reins lol, and she decided to go the wrong way but I just managed to get her back to the right way! I love Misty,s he is adorable, I un-tacked her afterwards :)
next week we are walking round cones etc and then in a few lessons time, i'll be cantering!
