View Full Version : Quest's first time at Showjumping!

Well wasn't a bad day for are first day out [^]

Only a couple of hairy moments!
First one on the hack on the way up there! On a main round going round a blind bend could hear something massive coming up behind (very fast!!) So we all braced ourselves and got on the verge as much as we could, there was another car coming the other way when i huge doubledecker bus flew pass didnt slow down or move over hardly! All three shot forwards because of the noise, but that was it! So proud of them for being so brave! I felt sick afterwards and my heart was pounding so bad!

And second Quest nearly bucked me off! [lol]

Well the first class was 1'6 cross poles.
My sister took him round that and he got 2 refusals, and a knock down on the same jump. Didnt like it due to it being next to the veiwing area with all the scary noisey people. But not bad for his first time jumping coloured jumps or a course or indoors! Very pround Mummy!

Then i took my friends horse round this same course! She went like a rocket with hardly any breaks [:c]
She had one refusal and a knock down.

Then i took both Quest and Kara round the 2' and got elimnated with both on the same jump Grr! A spread going away from home.

Im soooo happy with are results! Even if they weren't very good! This is the horse i never thought would be sound again! Its amazing what a different set of shoes can do!

Great pics-dont worry too much about your results, the more shows you do the more you will build up your confidence :)

Good grief thats some rear, well sat to your firend. As has already been said (and I'm sure you know) its all about the experience, and well done!

omg :eek: that is one hell of a rear!! how come the horses didnt like that perticular jump?

I was thinking it may be because of the flags on the walls, and it was first jump that going away from the gate.

Quest looks rather excited :D He's doing the 'stick my head in the air and snort' thing my mare does!
It does look like, from those photos, that he has a tendency to drift to the right at his fences. Have you noticed that?
