I posted on here a while back about wanting a Fjord. I currently own an exmoor mare.
Had a thought, how nice It would be to have my mare covered by a fjord, then I can breed my own perfect little beast.:)?

Tis cheaper to buy your perfect little beast! You know exactly what it will turn out like, and you dont have the hassle or expensive of breeding and raising a foal, and your mare isn't put at risk :)

Thanks Jessica, I was thinking more along the lines of how nice it would be to have a foal by my lovely mare plus I would like a fjord, I thought the result would be very very nice. I'm not really thinking of the money side of things:D, but putting my mare at risk I would take very seriously. Thanks for your thoughts :D

It might be hard to find a nice Fjord stallion that the owners will allow to cover a non Fjord mare.
Most Fjord breeders do not allow cross breeding.
But good luck!

How tall is your mare? You wouldn't want too big a stallion for her as that really can cause major complications, and as far as I know the average Fjord is a fair bit bigger than the average Exmoor.

She is a big exmoor 13.1 and 6 years old so may even get to 13.2.
Having given this matter some thought now, and considering all the valid points made on here, I think i'll prob get a full fjord, do you think one would fit down the chimney?:D
