hi
next year i am going to be showing my veteren hopefully at county level
we've done showing before but i want to get everything spot on next year
firstly i will be 17 when i'll be showing so will i have to have long boots or can i stick with short ones?
what is the best colour tack, and can she be ridden in just a snaffle
can she have a coloured browband or should it be plain.
and i hear they can't gallop can we do an extended canter
also anything else you think will help us
she's 15.2hh 23 years old
thanks

Unless she's Piebald you should use brown tack. As she's not a pony then long boots would be correct.
As for the rest I've no idea without seeing the horse, you turn out as you would in a normal show class for that horse. A hack turned out as a hack a hunter as a hunter etc.
No extended canter, you could use a snaffle but normal turnout for any class except novice ones ( I dont think you would get away with this in a veteran :D) is a double or pelham.
You will also need a bridle number to show the horses age for affiliated classes.

You need...
Navy hat with flash strap
hairnet
canary/corn jods
long black boots
no jewellary for VHS, not even earrings (They are v. strict on this!)
Don't think spurs are allowed either
coloured tie + shirt
brown gloves + cane
black/brown elastic for your number... no horrible string!! (Or plaiing thread)
Tweed jacket of shes a Riding horse or hunter type, navy for hack (tweeh is prob your safest choice!)
Plain tack, pelham/double more correct. Coloured browband if she's a Riding horse or hack... post a pic then we can let you know. But if you get one make sure its a 'proper' one with rosettes either side.
Plaited, trimmed and pulled with appropriate quarter markings for her colour/type.
straight cut gp or showing saddle.. pref brown.
Good luck... you need to register with the VHS before you enter in order to qualify.

She's looking well!!
She looks more hunter type, but is too small really. So you could choose whether to go all sparkly etc as a RH or stick to plain stuff as a hunter.
