I'm a real live showjumper now. I can jump really huge. Really really huuuuge. Enormous in fact. Huge Huge huge. Hooooooge.
And no, this is not one of those dumb threads like last Spring when I went over that really-huge jump on joePony, and it turned out to be 18 inches. Again.
No, this time I'm taking lessons and everything. On SummerBummer - and although she's a monsterous cantankerpone, she can really jump - and she finds it so easy :D :D
So, I asked my loverly instructor if we could play at those gymnastic mallarkeys, and she put up tall cavalettis, 9ft apart (which is how I'm so flippin knowledgeable all of a sudden about bounce stride gymnastics in case anyone was wondering ... ) and we bounced through them... until there were four in a row ... bouncey, bouncey, bouncey, BOUNCEY WHHEEEEEEEeeeeeee ! And you can't do that without laughing your socks off. Way too much fun. And then as Summer and me were bouncing down the line one time, I had to call out to sarah 'Look at Meeee ! I'm really riding !'
Cos all of a sudden everything had clicked into place and I was really riding.
So then she sent me over the big jump at 2ft 6. And it was really huuuuge :D
(If anyone says 'ahh bless' I'm going to stop grinning like a fool and come over and slap 'em)

I can, but she seems to be shrinking
Not good! Plus she's a ginger fluffball capable of no more than 20 minutes of trot :D

Ooh - you should have a play on SummerBummer - honestly, if you get to the jump, you're going to clear it in fine style, smoothly and easily. Now, getting her round a corner if there's no jump to head for, that can be an issue. And keeping the front paws on the ground and the body following among behind the nose .. all things to work on. But put a little jumpie thing there, and she knows what her job is. Good BigGirl !!

I think I might squash her - she's quite little isn't she:o Plus on the other side of the world.......
Very annoyingly they all know how it SHOULD go, it's just more fun going through rather than over. Then next time around they do it properly, esp Kalli who thinks jumping is the best thing since sliced bread. In fact, even better. Unless it's wholemeal with jam, in which case it's about even.

bounces are fun, but I can't do them on Spyder :( He doesn't go bouncy bouncy bouncy, he goes "Weeeeee a really wide spread fence" and I go "arggghhhh I'm going to die". I think I need to borrow Summer :D

:D What do you think the poor Instructor would say if I showed up with my helmet cam ????? " ", I think, would be the closest approximation.
Mind you, she's quite happy to accuse me of having a rebellious nature ... and she does indulge me in my highly childish love of purple (today I was sporting brand new lilac stirrup treads, purple saddle-pad, metallic lilac helmet ... yes, and I AM a grown-up ... right up to the point where I expressed an interest in buying a purple sparkly glitter bat :o ) ... so... maybe I shall just show up and try it ?
Anyway, back to the plot ... last week she put one of the jumps up to 2ft 6 and I felt like a real live jumperer, and today we did the course all at 2ft 6, with one up at 2ft 9, and yes, I couldn't stop laughing and going 'Whhhheeeee !'
Oh good grief.

Ah bless. :p
I got ostracised as the freak weirdo girl on the appaloosa at 3 show jumping shows because I emitted a very loud 'WHOOOO HOOOO!" upon finishing a double clear in a kick-butt round. That was soon forgotten after 3 shows because they had a new person to ostracise who shouted "OI!" after each buck her horse did in the ring. :D

Better able to jump respectably-sized jumps well than only just survive over hedges the size of houses! :p
Well done!

AH BLESS!
Where is that slap that you promised me any way I would say a thousand times if I could just get you to come over here and help me with my horse :D. Aren't I bad. Yes I envy you, one day I will be jumping that high, can jump 1' nearly 1 1/2' but it is just to scarey to look at a 2' jump and say I am jumping that, no no, I am not that brave :D.
WEll done either way, I would have thought you would have named Summerbummer a better name than that. Tehe.
