Hi :)

I'm thinking about buying some clippers and was wondering what other horse owners experience has been of battery clippers and mains clippers.

Hi
Only ever had mains as battery ones didnt exsist when I bought mine!!!!!
It really depends on how much in one session you are going to do, I couldnt think of anything worse than running out of battery power half way thro a clip!
Check manufacturers guides on length of clipping time you get cos they vary.

Mine are mains, I would worry the battery would run out half way through as I'm a newbie clipper it takes me for ever to clip.:o

:)hi, i have the moser avalon battery clippers, nice & quiet and last for about 3hrs, great if you've got a nervous horse, and they are lightwieght

I only have Liveryman Mustang and Liveryman Arena both quite heavy but I don't find that a problem. I was told they burn out easy but i have never had that problem cos i stop every 10mins to coll down by brushing up and oiling blades.

I also have robinsons £20 trimmers which are rechargable and always cut out before i finish!!:)

I have Liveryman Sprinters [battery] I have 2 batteries and find 1 battery will clip just over 1 side in a full clip.

I have mains ones. But have clipped with moser battery ones. (forgot to send my blade off). mains are better if u have a few horses or full clips to do. But i did a trace with the moser ones and they clipper well. Dont really think that helps u tho lol. x

I bought Liveryman Harmony Clippers. These have a mains and battery option.

They are very quiet and lighter than the usual big clipper, however as a first time user with them I was amazed at there stamina!! I was unsure about buying them..but glad I did!! To me they did just a good job as a heavy use pair.
