Washing machine! :) If it's got lots of hair on it you could put it in a pillowcase and tie the top up. That will keep the hair in the pillowcase and save damaging the machine, but will still get it clean.

mine goes in the washer, same as girths headcollars etc, my dad used to go crazy haha, worried that the headcollars n girths wud break it and he'd end up with a machine full of horse hair. xxx

I bang everything in the washer...saddle clothes, head collars, fleeces, even the lightweight turnout (as some of you may know :p) all while mummy works over time :D:D
Thats what she gets for leaving me with the kids an extra 2hours a night!!

you can buy those horse wash bags that go in the washing machine and collect the hair so it dosent muck it up! i think there about 10 pounds and you can get them most places... :)

You can also hoover the thing before washing it - gets most of the hair and dust out. Then just stick it in the machine.

Like Chev I hoover it first and then stick it in the washing machine with some specialist sheepskin liquid soap stuff (probably not necessary but I got it with the saddle cloth).
I did take some saddle cloths and rugs and put them in the work machine once .... the washing machine was ok (well, it jammed and gave me a heart attack because I couldn't open it) but the dryer still had Saffy hairs in it even when I left

The putting them in a pillowcase and washing them in it really works well! :)
We have a washing machine at the yard, and also a dryer, so nice and easy! ;)
