this is from somewhere else I post but it made me blub. This is a cut and paste with all identifying bits taken out.
For all of you that do RDA, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
this is girl born in June 2002, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, PICA, Semantic Pragmatic Disorder. She has allergies, asthma, glue ear, hearing impaired, weakened immune system.
My Little El's came home yesterday from school with a huge Christmas bag from her horse riding/stables party. She came in handed me the bag, didn't say a word about anything, because the TV was on as usual and she was transfixed, Anyway I just tipped the bag out on to the table, to see what she came home with as you do cos your nosey like, lol.
Thinking sweets, toys, junk, food and the usual party stuff would come out, you know........................................... well out came two official certificates, she's passed her RDA Grade 1 Horse Riding and RDA Grade 1 Horse Care And then a gold and navy enamel pin from the RDA grading her, and then rosettes for clear rounds, faultless rounds and most improved rider
The RDA/Riding Disability Association teaches children riding styles and skills, care and grooming, etc all in a safe environment with 1-1 care and teaching.
God I'm so proud and she has no idea why, she kept saying "you upset, you cry, something wrong!!"" If only she knew, I could hug her to death I really could, I can't wait to see her improvement on a horse, we haven't seen her on one for over 9 months since she started going with school and the RDA. And now she's with the RDA she's not just out for a 30 min trot which we'd book on a Saturday, she goes for a few hours every week in the ring. We can't wait to book her in and see for ourselves what she's like and talk to the stable to see what they think of her.
Oh and she also had a big bendable teddy horse that makes sounds, that she won in the party, sweets, chocs, puzzles and some other bits
I'm so proud, I'm choked every time I look at her!!! Can't wait now to see her on a horse, get frames to frame her certificates and tell everyone what she's achieved!!! I think she's made my week
