first of all please dont let this turn into a big debate about what i should and shouldnt do with my HORSE, im asking about a BIT:)

Since changing my ponies bit, although ive seen a dramatic difference with the pelham, im not completely happy. i dont think she likes the mouth peice, i have a pony with a very hard mouth, who doesnt like jointed bits, she doesnt lean shes more of a girraffe type.

would things like a ported mouth make her happier? maybe a happymouth? little things like a curb guard for comfort?

thanks for reading:)

Hi :D

Are you using double reins or roundings? If you're using roundings try double reins and see how she goes.

What sort of contact are you using? Is there a certain time when she lifts her head?

I was going to suggest a ported mouthpiece to try! Iberiana tack shop sell the Portuguese Working Equitation pelhams which people are finding to be very good. It might also be worth trying an elastic curb 'chain' instead of a 'chain' curb as some horses (Saffy!) are quite sensitive to it. Putting one of the gel curb guards on can muddy the effect so it's probably worth trying the elastic first (they're about £7).
