My groom wants to let his friend come out for a drive with Bramble to last around 2 - 3 hrs probably a lot of trot work included in that. She has only driven with two adults before for any length of time but has had us two and two boys on the back before.

However she has had over a month off work and I am concerned as it has now turned into his friend and her boyfriend, I'm worried that the weight is going to be too much on an unfit pony? What do you think, is it too much too soon or should it be okay for a one off?

Bramble has been driving just under a year and up until two months ago was competition fit but has had hardly any work in that time?

I don't know your horses caperbilities as I only drive two wheelers and alone but it sounds as if your groom is thinking more about the fun he and his mates can have rather than the horse--another reason to drive alone!;)

I would say it sounds too much too sonn and ditto your groom not really thinking of the horses welfare in this. I would say no (you can say it nicely, I wouldn't :p) - maybe next spring/summer when the horse is fitter and more able to cope with it.
Horse comes first remember, not them having a bit of fun at the horses expense :D

All sorted managed to convince him that from Bags point of view it wouldn't be fair and thankfully it seems okay :o

Tell him he can come... but they will be hopping of and walking if the horse gets tired!!

You must have been a fly on the wall :D said he could bring his horse to ride behind if all four came or the three of us could go out but that if Bags got too tired they'd be a walking until I said otherwise ;) also may try and stop for a drink at a local pub to give her a rest if she seems to be getting a little tired
