I just found this site and looks like it'll be pretty good from what I been readin.
Although I've swung a leg over many a cantle, I'm kinda new to the hoof care parts of things. Mostly cause we were given a Paint mare that had some problems. Vet diagnosed her as navicular after we couldn't figure it out. She gave a real nice filly that I still own so she always had a prospect as a broodmare. But the few times I rode her it sure seemed like she had good abilities and maybe even some good foundation training.
Anyway I figured we'd give her a chance. We tried the isoxsuprine, padded shoes, bute and all that. Maybe helped a little but not the way I wanted. She just always seemed to move better barefooted.
Next weekend I'm heading down to a clinic on trimming to try to gather some more info.
Anyway, for now i'll probably have more questions than answers, but maybe somebody can benefit from some of our experiences.
