white eye markings on welsh

my sec A has a white 'eyeliner' mark under his eye like a bright white stripe. He also has a stripe on his face but are white face markings such as the 'eyeliner' 'allowed' in welsh? and what does it mean regarding colour/name? He's a dark bay.

It's more than likely sabino markings which are very common in Welsh. It shouldn't make any difference showing wise; odd blazes and splashy faces are often seen in Welsh. You get some judges who don't like lots of white, others that do. He'd be called dark bay (or dark bay sabino is you want - but don't expect the WPCS to go for that!) regardless of white on his face.

I'm not aware of a specific name for it... maybe someone else could answer that! Definitely won't be an issue showing though. He's very handsome!

they are not really ment to have alot of white on the face.... on the legs its ok and a star it ook.... not sure bout a stripe... local shows will be no prob but at higher levels they wont like alot of white

Actually pineapple a huge number of medal winning ponies have stripes and even blazes. There is nothing to say white on the face is not desirable. And this is gold medal winning ponies too, not local shows.

Nearly all of mine have got more than a star on their faces! This mare has got plenty of white on her face! In fact I think the majority of people would like a nice wide blaze on welsies face!

it was just the eye marking i didn't know about
