Well after all of the waiting, being mistakenly overcharged, receiving the wrong size (incorrectly marked) and then more waiting - An Extra full size Elevator Bridle in Black with a White trim finally arrived! I rode her in it today and I'm very impressed :) She worked much more softly and was more round really easily :)

Interestingly, I tried her in another brand of 'comfort bridle' about 3 1/2 years ago and she didn't like it. I put it down to a lack of schooling, but maybe it didn't work in exactly the same way.

The Elevator feels and looks gorgeous and she approves. In addition, in compensation for all the problems, they gave me free a bling brush, some of the new Elevator cleaner and a bridle bag.

So well done Horsesense Saddlery in the end :D

So it basically has a padded poll piece that relieves pressure? Are there any other differences or is that it?

The thinner noseband strap goes over the top of the cushioned headpiece instead of directly onto the horse's head and its cut away to avoide pressure on the horse's ears.

How would it be any different to using say one of those prolite pads on the poll? I want to do the best for my ponies but not if I can get the same effect for a tenth of the price :D

I'm no expert on them, but I know of lots of people who swear by them. They do seem to give excellent results with some horses :) It seems that virtually all of our top dressage riders use them and they say their horses go better as a consequence :)
