Not a problem
What a stunner!!!!!
If you can send thru the 3 measurements we need to custom make, we should be right, But to make sure, can you also give us a length for the cheek strap. (it should be around the same measurement as the distance across the nose between the lower points of facial crest on each side of the face) Pic attached of approx position of cheek strap.
We would like this as your beautiful boy's head shape may be outside the "secret formula" for correct proportional sizing. The truth is, no horse is a standard size. Standard sizing was introduced to make it easier for stores to sell tack, not to get accurate sizing.

CF, as this halter is to be used for riding, may we suggest we do a noseband like in the 2nd pic below, it has a 3mm polyester cord braid in contrasting colours, this is finer than our half bosals which use a 6mm braid on the nose coils and is more flexible. (we wont put on the cheek strap braided buttons as this style of halter suits in hand showing, the buttons can rub when riding)

As for colour??????

beige & brown would suit your boy, or black with a black/red noseband looks real 'araby' (according to Little Britian, that would mean 'arab like':D)
If you wanted to go full on araby, we could add some little red & black tassles to the poll knots and gullet knot???? (i could be getting a bit carried away here..lol)
OR.... we could continue the seahorse theme with an electric blue and purple colour scheme????

email thru the info anytime karen.... cant wait to see what you have decided on

This thread does have some useful aspect, CF has a horse with a head shape that does not match standard halter sizings, CF finds the noseband openings are too large on a halter that has the head length needed....this results in the chin loops comming back into the neck when certain rein cues are given when riding, this is a common problem. if you have such a halter... there are some options you can try before buying new tack. You can take the reins thru the chin & gullet pieces of the halter above the fiador knot or add a reducer to the halter above the fiador knot, this reducers the nose opening and gullet strap length, you can then take the reins thru the gap between the reducer and the fiador knot if you wish, but make sure the reins are attached to both chin loops or the knot can loosen...pic of reducer attached below. We make these but email thru and we can supply info on how to make one from a scrap of leather.... at no charge of course. (also good for adjusting a halter for a young horse still growing)

Have a safe and merry Chrissie, y'all

Oooh! Choices! I'm in an agony of indecision about styles and colours now. :D Maybe a some tassles... I had tassles on my other Arab's rope bridle, but sadly that went to EBay because it swamped this boy. To give you an idea, he wears a pony sized bridle with a full sized browband.
It was far too cold and nasty at the yard today to wave tape measures about, I'll do that when the weather is moderate nice. He can try his new hoof boots at the same time. :)

Thank you MrsCarter, he doesn't look like that now! He's a mud monster. I bring him in, scrape him off, untangle the mane (with care so not to break it), put his rug on and turn him out... and he rolls and covers every exposed inch with mud - even his eyebrows!
I've emailed Lodge Ropes his measurements, so will update this when Celebrity is modelling his new clothes. He is a great horse, I measured him up with a bright yellow tape measure in gale force winds... he lifted his head just a couple more inches than usual, and stood like a lamb - with just his eyes following the flappy yellow thing's every move. :D

Awwww bless him. I bet he even looks stunning as a mud monster :D

I'll very much look forward to more pics of him modelling his new gear for us :)

You lucky lucky person ... I'm not jealous or anything ;)

Hi all
Just a little update,
Crystal Fires halter has been on the work bench for a day or so, but due to a death in the family all work has stopped here at the Lodge.
CF has given me carte blanche, and after looking at the wonderfull pics of her horse, i have decided to go with a black and red colour combo.
attached are a couple of pics from the work bench.
This is a halter for riding, 6mm black marine double braid rope halter with a 2.5 mm red marine double braid noseband and cheek strap features....the pic shows a leather turkshead knot on the cheek strap, but i am am thinking red knots may be more attractive????? So things may change, i love the freedom of custom work
regardless, it is a special halter in the process of creation...not sure what it will end up like.
cheers all
Rob
