Ponyboy has been off work for a month now waiting for his leg and back to get better. The new saddle has arrived now, so i got some pictures of him. I didnt get any of the saddle, since i was sitting on it at the time!

So i tried the new saddle on Sunday! You would never have thought he had only been ridden once in a month - he was as good as gold! we plodded around the school, with Izzy doing some nice half pass things around us with Pedilia. She is a good rider to get work like that out of her!
I asked for faster walk, he complied; i think even he was surprised about that one. We had some small trots down the long side - storm started doing his strange headshaking thing on one side. Straight away, you could see the confusion on his face as he realised it didnt hurt anymore, and he dropped his head right down to the ground. It was amazing the difference the new saddle made.
We then hacked over to the new field where they will hopefully be wintering out 24/7, unless very cold or wet. Considering he hasnt been off the yard in a month, i couldnt fault him: no jogging, rushing, pulling, anything. There was a scary small pony walking towards him initially, so we had to show it who was scarier with some sideways stuff and snorting, but he is a general prat around ponies anyway. So much happier in the new saddle. Im hoping it will 'cure' a lot of his hacking 'eccentricities' if he is more comfortable.
Roll on summer!
