Title says it all, really. It looks perfect for me, so perfect that I'm worried there is a snag. I can't manage to play any of the videos - something to do with the lack of a Quicktime plugin, so I'd be grateful if anyone could let me know what they're like.

I haven't, but its an interesting concept. I'd also like to hear from people who have tried it :)

Hi i tried it, its great - the feedback is quick and very very constructive. the rosettes are lovely too - it does what is says on the pack so to speak.
give it a go - i got a non-horsey friend with camera to video me. the tests are nice and the only pressure is what you put on yourself

I'm hoping to enter with both my mares soon. I found the site months ago and it seems really good. I signed up for the newsletter which is also very good

LokiSofi - you will have a great time. Karina is very helpful and they really want people to enjoy and learn from the experience. It has helped me greatly with my riding and confidence.
Good Luck when you enter.
Trixie - have a word with Karina, i am so non-technical but with help from my friends i have entered and they are so excited and keen on my behalf now. i get texts saying when do you want us to come and film you.

Since there isn't a class, how do they allocate rossettes? Is it based upon a particular score?

I think there are different classes that are ran monthly

I contacted Karina cos the area size I have to work in is smaller than 20 x 40 and she said it's fine as long as I'm happy working in it and I may have to avoid some of the more energetic test. It was a really encouraging and informative e-mail I got from Karina and she included last months Newsletter which is really interesting.
So, I've printed off a walk and trot test and I'm now going round my lounge in working trot, tracking left at C.
All I have to do now is convince my stubborn mare that working on the left rein doesn't mean that she's about to be eaten if she doesn't buck, fart and leg it:D

How much is it?

its £10 a class or a training class is £6.50. prize money is given according to the number of entries but the pot is 20% of the total entry fees per class.
there are approx 4 classes per month from walk and trot upwards and in February there is a test with 2 jumps in it - what i know as Prix Caprilli.
i was terrified and sent my first video off without looking at it but the comments on my sheet were really encouraging and helpful. the best thing for me is that a qualified List 3 British Dressage judge is judging so you know you are getting proper feedback
Also is if you go wrong or the weather is bad you can have another go and send the best film off.
i have now got to tackle canter - he can do it, i can do it - but not together!! Karina knows this and said if there was any help they could give they would and i know she means it - you don't get that everywhere do you.
Good luck, i hope you give it a try

Do you send it via dvd in the post or send by email?

Quickest and cheapest is to upload to YouTube - but you can send DVDs if you prefer. The details are all on the website.
I did the Intermediate test in November - the feedback was very thorough and constructive and as soon as the ice clears from our arena I'll be encouraging my students to have a go too. (They made me go first to see whether the judge bites - but she doesn't - and now they've seen my rosette, everyone is getting fired up!:D)
It's less formal than a regular show - and much more geared to helping riders improve rather than judging them in a critical way. It's a great way to give yourself a target and something to work on, without all the stress and expense of going to shows. Obviously, it's nice if you get placed - but the feedback and training suggestions are well worth the entry money whatever mark you get!
I think its a fantasic idea and would encourage anyone to have a go! It can only get better and better the more people take part! :)

They will send you a free SD card when they get your entry fee if you request one. You can save your video to that and then post it back. I must admit that youtube does seem to be the simplest.
I'm really quite excited about this now. Training of horse and rider starts in earnest on Monday.

i'm thinking it might be an option for me - i have no transport. its great for people who's horses work markedly better at home than out and about IMO as you get feedback on your horse when it is most settled rather than at a show when common comments are - "a little tense today" Sounds good :)

my horse does not load and therefore doing the Interdressage competitions has been like a breath of fresh air. the comments you get back are so very helpful.

Hi!
Any Interdressage people on here will recognise me from the Interdressage News and the Hungary connection!! ;) I can't recommend Interdressage highly enough! It's great for me, in the middle of no-where in Hungary, on my business partner's highly strung and highly unpredictable not-happy-loading mare! The rosettes are fab, the cost of entry is really reasonable and the comments and feedback is really great and useful! Karina is so helpful!
Last month I did an any-bit test on my psychotic pelham-wearing 21 year old Welsh D, Fella. I already warned Karina I was entering for a bit of a laugh because Fella is absolutely nuts!! The comments and advice I got back were terrific and had me crying with laughter in places! We managed 60% which was awesome, and got a lovely highly comended rosette, but even I know that the judge's comment 'rather strong and onward-bound' was a polite way of writing....'totally out of control'!!!! :D
I did warn them.....!
Anyone who is wondering if it's worth it, give it a go! It's great fun! We are just waiting for better weather - Hello Kate in Austria - how's your weather!? We have minus lots and gales!!!! Maybe I can pop over the border sometime and say hello! Haven't been to Austria for a while!
And there's meant to be a team competition coming up, so all international NR members, please support it!! It would be cool to have teams from all over the world in an Interdressage competition! AND think how cool it would be to say you compete at dressage and have ridden in an International event!!!!!!!! :D
