hi ive booked my 1st lesson for like half a year and im really nervous although i can remeber the basics im just really nervous so if any one can giver me some tips i would be very greatfull.

Hi,

Although its easier said than done try to relax and smile. As long as your RI knows that you haven't ridden for a while then they should make sure that you are comfortable with everything you are doing.

You will be fine - I was worried sick about having my first one in 20yrs about 6 weeks ago, and I came away excited and wanting the week to go quickly so that I could go again.

If you can afford a few private lessons too that would be a good idea. I felt I achieved more having a couple of lessons on my own,

Hit the 'rescue remedy',take a deep breath and go for it,all you need to worry about is the screaming muscles and the John Wayne walk you will wake up with the next day,make sure you buy (or get someone to treat you to)some nice relaxing bath salts!!!!!

i was nervous all the time because we were always moving barns trying to find the perfect RI so i always had to start riding again on just the basics but i am sure that after you get on the horse your nerves will just float away.

it always helps me to remind myself i'm actually doing it out of my own free will, nobodys MAKING me do it, you can back out anytime.
