Not a typical stable just a cow shed with one half converted for the horses.
Huge half door, a corner section for one bale of haylage and another corner for water trough. A skinny door to get easy access into 'stable' from old milking palour as the main is just too big for me to open and close and the other access mean hassling the cattle in the second half and opening gate to reach the horses (They share big enough for 2 horses).

So looking for useful tips to do with feeding, they have old blue small plastic barrels cut in half but the colt knock his around and spills nuts which is a waste.

Is there any feed container that cannot be knocked over or attached to wall safety but on ground level?

And is it ok to leave a full bale of haylaye?
We hope it would last at least a week. (we only guessing) will find out this weekend

I use the bucker in a tyre trick too!

The haylage shouldnt be a problem. At this time of year we but a big bale in the middle of the field for a few horses to have as they wish, so dont see y it couldnt work the same indoors. Just watch they dont get too fat cos they will prob pig out till its all gone!!

alteratively Chuck his food on the floor, I doubt he will waste any nuts!!He'll forage around for them if hes knocked his bucket flying If my gelding dosent finish his breakfast in time if I'm in a rush in the morning he gets it chucked on the floor in his field. Happily forages away for it!:)
