is there a certain age you have to be before you can help at an RDA?
idk if its different in australia to everywhere else, but any help at all would be appreciated!!
i really really need something worthwile to do (on weekends), as i recently quit netball because i couldnt make it to training, and volunteering for RDA sounds really really rewarding!

I think it's 14 years but that's in the UK. Definitely worth checking it out though! Good luck if you do :)

I think it is from the age of 10 or 12 not sure. the best thing is to check with the RDA there web site is

This is for the rda queensland but they have a link to every state though.

UK age is 14 for insurance reasons I believe.

Below the age of 14 you are not covered by the RDA insurance package.
In our group, our extra employers' liability comes with a small amount of extra public liability insurance that means that we can have volunteers of 13 on the yard, as long as they have a letter signed by their parents. They can't help in lessons until they're 14 though.

the RDA i worked at you could volunteer on the yard at the age of 14, mucking out, grooming and tacking up. if leading horses to the field under 16's need to wear riding hats.
from the age of 16 you can lead in lessons as well as all the yard work
