Drinking and weeing more

Over the past few days my horse has been drinking a lot more through the night, and there is much more wee in his bed. Apart from the weeing issue he seems absolutely fine, bright and breezy and eating as normal. Is this something I should be concerned about?

PS - I have noticed that the latest lot of haylage is much dryer than the previous one, could it be something as simple as that?

The haylage could be why he is more thirsty and as a result why is is weeing and drinking more.
I would keep an eye on him. If he continues once you have a different bale of haylage and or it gets worse then call the vet if you are worried. He might just be more thirsty for a few days, us humans can go days with not drinking much then we find we drink loads for a few days he might just be going through a stage.
My horse never used to drink in his stable at all for the first few weeks he was put in during the winter he would wait until he went out the next day, now he drinks half a big bucket nightly.

My girl has been as well. Might be the weather, might be the haylage. Keep an eye out and if it's excessive then speak to the vet. Give him another bucket of water and see how much more he will drink if he's given the opportunity.

does he recently have more salt in his diet? Maybe a salt block or mineral block?

J drinks and wees different amounts depending upon where the hay has come from and how good the quality is. when he had some pretty rubbish hay with a lot of earth in it, he drank nearly his whole bucket. better quality stuff he tends to drink less, but he has taken to dunking it in his bucket and eating it from there (i think he's telling me he wants it soaked ;))

Dyl on the other hand drinks all but the last 2 inches of his bucket and wees everywhere regardless!
