further to my recent thread .. http://www.newrider.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1528961&posted=1#post1528961

I have decided to try a day with becky chapman and have an intensive day course on her equisimilator, just had a lengthy conversation with her and she sounds really nice and supportive :D

Told her about my rising trot problem and she said she can really help me with that, enough to make a huge difference, so I'm all excited :p

Has anyone else been on one of her courses?
If so, what did you think, did it help improve your riding?

Oh, guess what, I'm all excited, can you tell !!!!!!!!!

not her course but we have an equisimulator at college, its pretty cool. Rising trot takes a little getting used to though ;)

One day I will when I have the money. In the meantime I can't wait for your write up on it :D

Haven't been on Becky Chapman's but have been to a course of Heather Moffett's at Eastleigh Farm and it was well worth it.

The equisimulator was brilliant for rising & sitting trot, canter and we even did some piaffe :)

We were taught how to sit correctly, the problems caused by not sitting and rising to the trot correctly, rising and sitting to the trot and also feeling which leg is doing what in trot (her sim has a 'back' that works independantly so that you can actually feel the 'dip').

It was a great couple of days and very useful as it meant that she could work on your problems without you having to worry about controlling your horse.

Enjoy!

I haven't been but have been thinking about it - I need to get a lot better by May as I have booked to ride Clydesdales up in Cumbria!

Is it the 3 hour session or a whole day with Tara too?

OK - so now I'm booked in too! Going on the 29th.

Me too!!

I am going to have a lesson before and after with my RI, Hayley, and get her to spot the difference!

But I think the best bit will be the readout from the machine - I am going to try it with full chaps and half chaps to see if it makes a difference too.

I will be nice to know whether my position is good for the horse.
