I know that must seem small to some people but I put in for a 2ft 6 class at the weekend and they called yesterday to say its a pony class and I need to do the horse class which is 2ft 9:eek::eek:
I havent jumped a 2ft9 class for years, have stuck to 2ft 3 then got brave enough for 2ft 6:D

You'll be fine if you can jump 2'6" you can jump higher your postion will be the same for 2'9", think positive and stay as calm as possible.
Tell yourself it's 2'6" if that helps i had a schooling session with my RI we were jumping big she told me it was only 4'3" wasn't until we finished that she told me it was 5'2", granted the horse is a show jumper but if she had told me the height at the time i wouldn't have done it, it's all in your mind if your horse has the ability to clear that height then you can too.
Good luck let us know how you do.:D

Im sure you will be fine , if your horse is capable of it and you trust your horse to take you around then , you will be fine, take each fence as if it was a single fence , set your self up and use your corners .
Enjoy it xx ;)

Oooh, how exciting! :D
You'll be fine, you're horse looks to be stepping over the fence in the pic! lol She will have no trouble, you just have to ride confidentally :) A lesson will definately help you with that, but just try not to worry about it. And GOOD LUCK!!

Yes you are, it would be better if it'll fit under but you won't get put done for being safe.
Good luck:D

Good luck and enjoy :D
I don't think it's small at all - on Friday night (weather permitting!) I shall be doing a 2' class :o:D If, and only if, he goes well I might attempt the 2'6" but wish there was a nice 2'3" in between. The first class is a bit too small (horse 17hh :o) but I'm not overly confident at 2'6" and just need to get out there and get some experience.
ETA - and I shall be wearing my BP over my nice, fitted dressage jacket too!

Hi guys
Just to let you know we did both the 2ft 6 and 2ft 9 classes on saundy and although we got 4 faults in both we did them and I was scred but he went like a dream :) No pics unfortuntaly, I had it videoed but its the old fashioned stylee i cant post on here sorry.
I told my RI last night and she popped me over a few jumps to see why he knocked them, says he is just a bit lazy and i should do loads of grids, which i have posted about before. Then she put the jump up and i did it then she told me it was 1m 5 !!!!!! How great am i lol i love my pony:D

We said you could do it.
Well done, no stopping you now.
He may have knocked them because he is busy looking around and having a good time.
