Anyone used a Mountain Horse Body Guard Jacket?

No, but I've always liked the idea of them - should have bought one a few years ago when they weren't as expensive. The one thing that puts me off is the colour, I know I could still wear hi-viz tabard over, but would like it to be brighter, especially as it's a safety conscious coat

I do! It is great - comfortable and warm. You don't notice the padding at all but it does give a little sense of security. At least my husband feels happier if I wear it! I do wear a HiViz tabbard too.

I have been looking at these too. At the moment I am not wearing any protection as I find bodyprotectors so restricting :o. The cheapest I have found is £153.00 . Anyone know of a company doing them cheaper?

Hi Guys, there's a medium sized mountain horse body guard on ebay at the moment for £41. I've never seen them before, what a great idea!! I'm gutted M is too big!

I have one in blue - it is warm and comfortable and you can take the padding out to make it a good coat for non horsey outdoor activities.

The upside is that, unlike a body protector, it covers your shoulders, elbows and the base of your spine with padding plus it doesn't ride up. The downside is that the padding is motorbike quality and not of the latest standard.

This doesn't worry me as I reckon it is still better protection than a bodyguard.

The arm / shoulder flashes are reflective material for viz at night.

My only problem is what to do in the warm dry weather!
