I have a mud fever question. Here in the U.S. not too many people seem familiar with it and those that are do not seem to know what to do about it!(even the vet!) I have had soooo many suggestions and advice, but after reading on here about piggy oil and sulfur I am thinking that may be what will help the best!

Problem is....is it available to me from the UK? I am desperate...poor horse is very, very sore. It is nearly impossible to keep her out of the mud, she has started kicking out when anyone goes near her feet, so treating it is a real problem. I have been spraying her (from a distance) with a spray I bought online. It seems to have helped somewhat but I feel as soon as she goes back in the mud the spray is not protecting her from further irritation.

Can anyone help me find what I need here in the US?

if you can get rid of it with the spray then zinc and castor oil cream would keep it at bay over the top when she goes back out in the mud.

can you get your hands on any sulphur? when i used it for an old loan horse, the guy who got it was a teacher and ordered it through his schools science department.

I think I can order the sulfur online..I will try to get it. I have heard of using the zinc but I am having a problem with touching her legs..she has started kicking out at anyone that tries to lift a foot.

Thank you!
