Someone called 'Cathy' an intelligent horsemanship person was round my yard in Hampshire today. She was introduced, but I had to run as I didn't have much time.
Anyone have any idea if she is Parelli or Rcommended associate?
Didn't have time to check her out!
seemed nice.
Anyone?

Hiya Lucy. She isn't Parelli qualified (resident in this country there are Rio, Lynne and Charlotte). Maybe she is a Kelly Marks Intelligent Horsemanship recommended associate. There is a list of them on her website. I think some of them are good, even though I've got a few doubts about some of the methods.
I'm so pleased to read that your lovely horse is liking her new saddle. You can progress on now!
I got going with my Arab this week and saddled and backed her. I put a post up on the BHS website (Starting Fire), because a lady there has her dad, maybe you'd like to have a peep.

Hi,
There is a recommened associate of that first name, but in Kent, so I doubt it is the same one, perhaps I'm wrong though. I believe this is the person who is looking to come to the yard and bring on youngsters. She seemed really nice though, and someone I wouldn't mind sharing the yard with.
Ciara joined up with me when loose schooling at the weekend, and was almost working in an outline in the school, so we are definitely improving. Little and often I think is the motto we need to stick to!

Good for you Lucy! Pleased it's going so well. Maybe it won't be as bad as you feared with the youngsters - is she's an IH associate she'll know what she's doing.

Apparently she is supposed to be Parelli registeredto work with youngsters, and she trained with Pat in the states and was at his daughters wedding recently???
She is from London?
Thats all I know. HOwever I am looking at a new yard with floodlights and proffessional tuition, the arrival of this new person may well give me that final push, also, I need more help with schooling my horse, this new yard would give me the chance.

Lucy - maybe fate is taking a hand and our are destined to move. If you do I hope you can get settled down at last :)
I'm looking at the Savvy News recently sent out by the UK Savvy Centre - it lists all the UK based and visiting professionals in this country at the moment. No Cathy on the list...If you need to check her out ring 01884 881254 - then you will know for certain.

turns out the yard owner is talking poo!
she is neither RA or Parelli 'she does things her way'
hhmmmm. Well I accepted the place at the new yard, I tried to tell the yard owners where I am yesterday, but they just wouldn't listen and said 'See Cathy, she'll sort your horse out'
Cathy seems nice enough, but not much older than me, and myself and Ciara need experienced help in an experienced environment. I am getting the better of her, but slowly.
I don't know how to get through to the yard owners that I'm leaving without causing offence. aarrgghhh!

Great Lucy! All you need...there are too many of these self-proclaimed "experts" out there, as we've said before...Still, you're determined enough not to let her fiddle about with your horse.
When you leave a yard you just say you're moving to a place that you think will be better for your needs, and go. It's tough, but it has to be done!
It's been suggested that I move mine, to somewhere with less facilities, but hacking to die for. This is really difficult, because if I do I don't think the owner will let my friends take anybody in to replace me - and they'll be a bit stuck over turnout etc. I'm still thinking about it.

its's so tough making the right decision, I still haven't managed to tell the yard owners, perhaps I'll do it tonight.
I am going to use the hacking angle, because this new place has miles of off road hacking and a x country course next door!
good luck with what you decide - I'll let you know how I get on!
