And they fit and he travelled in them earlier with him having to cross some stones. He still has them on in his stable because although he's been fantastic at having them put on, new yard might have him a little on his toes.

I'm off to test them out later. :D

Woohoo! Did you go for G2s in the end? (Sorry if I've missed a thread :o )

Yes, we got the G2's, ended up with size 6 on all four, whereas originally I'd bought 4's and 5's

They made a huge difference, it was worth getting soaked through today trying them out. :D

Again I left them on all day, partly because he's been a little unsettled, and partly because I'm making sure I'm doing them up tight enough, ie if they move whilst he's in the stable (I'm in and out all day) then I know I need to do them tighter next time. :)

They're good boots - but I seem to have ended up with a few spare sizes too! :D
Re the tightness - I pull the strap as tight as possible on Merrick's now. Ended our problems with them twizzling round on his hooves  and hasn't rubbed at all.
Is he starting to settle a bit at the yard now? :)

He's not bad. I think it's mainly to do with his stable having a front door and a back door (one internal, one external) and then only a "half-wall" on one side to next doors stable. Which is quite good because he doesn't seem to be drinking from his own trough and is instead sneaking at next doors. ;) So I think he's a little nervous at being so "open", when previously he's only really had to guard what's in front of him.

Apparently this morning all three boys had wet heads from sticking them out in the rain, and yesterday he was grooming with next door, which is good because he wouldn't do it at the first yard (too unhappy methinks), and only with one horse at the second. My main worry was that he wouldn't get on with his new friends as much as his old best friend, but I think he'll be fine.

I plan to take him around inhand tomorrow, I've been told I can show him around the fields (they're in with the ground being slippy) so I'll do that. So far so good, and aside from managing to open the external stable door he's behaved like a gent, even then he didn't barge. :D

Tomorrow we might even hack and play at working in the school, get these boots worn in. :p
