A lovely purple rosette for Mrs P! + *vid*

Yesterday Mrs P went to do some show jumping. She was clear in the clear round, her eyes were out on stalks at all the scary fillers but she still went over! Then we decided to have a crack at the novice class - it was 90cm so higher than we've competed over before. She went clear, she was such a star, it was as though when the jumps went up the fillers stopped being scary! Maybe she needs something that's a bit challenging to focus on getting over the fences, rather than staring at the horse-eating fillers :p

I didn't do the jump off with her because they whacked the fences up to 3ft+ & I thought it was a bit much to ask, but we came 6th because there were only 6 clears so she got a lovely purple rosette :D

She's not all that balanced in canter but she is still only 5 & she's got a lot of filling out & strengthening to do. Right now I'm just trying to make sure she enjoys herself & isn't overfaced. Feel free to critique :)

You should have done the jump off, she made the 3ft look effortless, and she'd already jumped the jumps, another few inches wouldn't have mattered (and no, I'm not continuing the rudeness and innuendo ;):D)

Thanks guys! You're probably right GT & she would have been OK in the jump off, but I'm being super cautious with her - she's never stopped at a show jump & I'm paranoid about messing up her confidence & ruining that. Maybe I'm the one with the confidence problem! Heh-ho :rolleyes:

:p She is still a baby, albeit great a big 'un! Our target for the year is a BE Intro event in September, and the jump off on Sunday was as high as an Intro showjumping round. I figured that we have plenty of time to work our way up to doing that ;)
