Well since we have moved yards on wednesday i've managed to have by jumping session in months :D:D

It was brill, Nimby was so so good when he could have been an idiot. I went upto about 3'6 probs could have gone further but i'll let him get back into it before we try setting any records :p

I did get a few vids and pics.. well one very blurry pic and some rubbish mother filming bu hey.

How do we look? (p.s he doesn't go in an outline before you mention it)
This is around 2'9 to 3'..

He's got a lovely jump! I noticed a couple of things you might want to bear in mind though. He's on the wrong canter lead when you're coming over the jump off the left rein, also you're letting him fall into a bit of a heap after you've landed sometimes. I'd try to make sure the canter lead is correct before approaching the jump - ride a circle rather than jumping if necessary to get it sorted - & ride away from the jump and get him balanced before easing back after the jump. :)

Hey thanks!
His left rein is definately his worst and does need alot of work so i will try to get that right. :) Not bad for his first time back in months though! I have to say it felt weird jumping again . How do i stop myself landing in pile after each jump do you reckon? I'm sure i never used to but it's been so long since lessons and jumping i have developed bad habits, but i have facilities to work on them now! :D

You're not landing in a heap so much as going 'phew we got over' and stopping riding when you land, so he drops into a heap. Just ride away from the jump in a nice straight line in canter as though you're going round a course & there's another jump a few strides away, then ask for trot when you say, rather than just letting him drop into trot when he feels like it. :)

I agree with all that Iron Maiden has said, but would just like to add - I'd like to see you looking round at the jump before the turn into it, but that's really nit picky! You both look good and like you're having fun :D

The same as IM really, canter leads and riding after the fence.....also, Nim is quite flat (both on the flat and jumping), your walk to canter transition is hasty and he liooks quite unbalanced?

This could all be because you've not jumped in a while but he looks a lovely ride :)
