Is it really bad that I dont actually know where Farnham is?
Not really - I didn't know either until we moved here, and my OH still doesn't really know where we are except in relation to Guildford (10 miles east) and the M25! :o
Farnham has a pretty active riding club, but its probably too far - about 25 miles north east of you/45+ mins drive. Don't know about your neck of the woods, sorry.

Are we planning a meet?? or should we??
Joyscarer
28th Jan 2008, 02:44 PM
Well I have to admit that I wouldn't meeting up for a spot of dinner. I was thinking that somewhere in the New Forest might be quite nice but there are a lot of people more guildford way.
What do we think then peeps? :)
molly34
28th Jan 2008, 02:55 PM
I'd be up for a meet - I'd love to be able to put some faces (and voices) to names :)
We're a bit spread out to do anything with the neds, but a meal as JC suggested would be good. Haven't looked at a map but its starting to sound like Winchester would be central-ish?
april89
28th Jan 2008, 04:23 PM
A meet would be really nice. I'm quite flexible about where as the New Forest/Winchester would be fine, although if its away from Farnham/Guildford if people could be kind enough to keep it to the weekends... :o :p

NatalieR would kill you! lol, shes from here too. as is Megan=) lol
id be up for a meet so long as its some time when my taxi service (april89 ;)) can manage to get me there too lmao
and yep Molly, Winchester is pretty much central. I think alresford is like slap bang, but theres NOTHING there (believe me, i go there for band every week for 7odd years :P)

I spose it would depend how old you all are! I'm in year 10 at school (so 14 nearly 15.)
If you're all adults it could be rather annoying for you lot to have me tagging along. (:
But I wouldn't mind a meet.

well i would be up for a meet and winchester sounds good.

Band? Am I clutching at a very big straw, or do you mean Hampshire Youth?
And to ruby and any other under 18's, why the heck would we mind? :)
I'll even offer lifts to anyone who's not a million miles out of my way.

Looks like I'll be the youngest. Woo! It's fine, I can sit on my tall horse and pretend I'm as old as you lot.

Well, clearly I'm a witch with magical powers of deduction....... either that, or I'm a bander too ;). Horses and bands don't usually mix, do they?! I play for Friary Guildford, lol! (did you know the Strakers?)
And yes you should mention the National Champs bit - who cares if its off topic, its something to be proud of :)
Anyhoo, back to topic!
Winchester's looking sensible, so who's actually up for this? Does everyone agree under 18's welcome with or without parents, as long as said parents are happy for them to come out with the rest of us?
We probably shouldn't put too much personal info here though - if we decided to go ahead we'd probably be better off using pms to arrange time & place etc.

Yes I will if we can work out a time and place :)

Winchester sounds good to me.
There is stuff in Alresford - couple of pubs, and Indian restaurant, and a pizza restaurant - but admittedly it's not everyones idea of a buzzing place!

 I'm not so sure that you're the type of person we'd like to meet. ;) :p :D - Yay that your a bander btw! I was a rubbish one years ago! :o
I'm willing to meet just about anyone, so if I'm free I'm there. :)

i'd be up for a meet somewhere - are we talking horseride and then lunch or dinner thing withno horses or what?
how about hiring out one of the chasers courses as there's plenty of parking and they look like fun for a great day ride- don't have to do the jumps can just pootle round the trail.
i know the one in winchester has just been refurbed and looks amazing now- can do picnic lunch then and only cost would be entry which is about £10 for the day.

Me too.
I'd love to take Belle somewhere, but have never tried and although I know she's been taken to loads of things with her previous owner, it's probably a step too far for me at the mo...damn it. I really need to a horsey friend to play with, who goes to things to get into traveling to events. One day...sigh.

of course!!! ;) noone has to do the jumps etc- first time i took my numpty youngster to rockbourne chasers we just pootled round and watched the nutters doing the jumps!! but the option is there if you want to go jumping! :D
it is a great day out and everybodys welcome- you only have to pay if you take a horsey on the ride as well!!

Hi Trio, your message box is full!
I think the Winchester Chase idea sounds great. Do they have a website? Where is it?

11th Aug 2008, 03:46 PM
molly34's Willow and my girly Kally are v close friends, sharing the same field :) in fact only last week Kally was getting Will to do the dirty work of chasing the newbie to the herd  I live in the other direction - Petersfield :)
A few years back I would've been up for the jumping, but Kal has not slowed down with both our age, and therefore we dont really do that sort of thing anymore. Although I reckon Willow would be good at it, having seen her leap and charge about the field :D
molly34
11th Aug 2008, 03:52 PM
Willow is definitely Kally's right-hand thug, lol!
She'll bounce round the field like a lamb, and jump happily on the lunge, but as soon as I'm on board she's the queen of run-outs and dirty stops
I can't ride at the moment anyway, she had a hissy coming back in through the gate on Friday and I have a latch-shaped hole in my knee!

11th Aug 2008, 04:00 PM
Owwww!!! (Wondered why it was bent :P ) My old pony did that to me a few times on trees. Dont think you can comprehend the pain until you have it done!
She is a cheeky one. If you ever need her exercising for a bit or need a hand, I'll volunteer :) Although I have a feeling I wont be able to walk for days afterwards - she must be twice as wide as Kal!
molly34
11th Aug 2008, 04:07 PM
thanks, I may take you up on that if I'm still hobbling in a few days, I couldn't even manage to lunge yesterday so I got my own back by giving her a shower instead :D
Trio, where'd you go? Need more info please!

I don't have any transport for Forest at the moment so wouldn't be able to bring him and I know that Joyscarer doesn't have any transport for Joy at the moment.
I would be up for coming along with Joyscarer (if she wants) and taking pictures for everyone?
I was thinking those who don't have trnasport for there horses or who are currently horseless could be in charge of refreshments, and first aid etc?
What do people think?:confused::)

12th Aug 2008, 10:45 AM
If everyone wants to meet then I'd be happy to drive but won't be bringing Joy as she isn't as fit in summer, neither am I and loading issues in that we have no transport so nothing to practice loading into :p
I would love to meet up anyway though as FG suggests. :D
Clava
12th Aug 2008, 11:07 AM
If there's a spare seat perhaps I could grab a lift with you, it would be nice to travel up there with someone, if not maybe I could pick someone up on the way.

I wonder if it is worth starting a new thread with the new plan so no-one gets confused with what is happening?
