Hoof Help Please --- Bruises..

Cleos had theses bruises 4 Agessssssss on her two back hoofs!!

My mum was watching me ride and jump and she noticed cleos hoofs clicking as she goes into a canter n thats whats causing the bruises..

would it be worth puttin over reach boots on her back hoofs

any other ideas welcome! :D x

you say she is clicking, is her back hooves catching her front hooves as she moves if this is the case over-reaching boots will help a small amount but you might go through a few pairs if they are caught alot.

Is she shod/unshod? How regularly is she seen by a farrier?

Shes unshod and shes seen about every 5 - 6 weeks,

its her back hooves that have the bruises

does she knock them on the jumps?
or do you mean that the 2 hooves knock into each other?

not over reaching if it is the back hooves that are bruised but if she does over reach then her toes are too long- it will take your farrier a few trims to get them shorter.

where are the bruises? have you got any pictures?

Its really hard to explain sorry, i dont think shes knocking them on jumps as i havnt really been jumping much, shes had these brusies since October there on the back hooves on the outside of the hoof. ill get pictures tommorrow,
