I noticed this a few days ago, and don't know what to do about it?

Dentist is due out in a few weeks for his yearly, Kermit is in great shape and eating just fine. Still, it bothers me that his teeth are so short on top. Bottoms appear normal. I don't know if the gums are swollen because I don't normally go poking behind his teeth. I do play with his tung in the warmer months and have never seen this before.

He doesn't crib or chew, there is no destruction to the pasture fences or trees.

His diet consists of 2lbs of pelleted feed and pasture, with occasional hay when it floods.

Any ideas?

have you looked at any other horses to see how they compare? the teeth themselves look fine -normally with cribbing damage it's the front edge, so rather than being flat on the bottom they are slanted.
his palate does look low, but i'd have to look at another to compare to be sure, and i wont; see mine until the weekend.

We compared him to several horses over the last few days, and his front uppers are shorter than normal. When his mouth is closed they miss the lowers by about 1/4".

His gums feel normal, there is a slight amount of swelling because that is what he uses to tear the grass up, but it looks evenly cropped when he does it.

Hopefully the dentist will have some ideas...
