I ride the same horse every week just because i have found that we have a really good match and shes a confident jumper. By a confident jumper i mean she'll try jump anything and wont run-out ir refuse or be silly.

But im starting to feel like im letting her down jumping. I want to stat jumping a bit higher and last month we jumped about 2ft9ish and she was soooo good and i was really happy.

The only thing holding me back is having a good canter because she either plods into and knocks it down when she doesnt try. I know she can do it and i can do it, i just think i need to trust her not to gallop full pelt into it or plod into. How do i maintain a balanced bouncy canter? Ive been told its not the height of the fence you sould worry about its about your canter on approach.

I let someone else dole out the riding advice.

The bit of your post that got me though is where you say that you feel you are letting the horse down.

I honestly don't beleive that horses think about this sort of thing in the same way we do so please try to stop pressurising yourself ;) :)
