mine, not the horses:D:D:D

i have recently lost a large amount of weight due to illness (stones not pounds:eek:) and am finding i feel bruised on all 3 seat bones when i ride making it very uncomfortable.

my saddle is relatively new with a well padded deep seat (this also happens on my other horses saddle and friends horse so dont think saddle is the issue)i always ride in jods and RI says i havent changed anything with my riding.

is my only option to fork out for a gel/padded seat saver?do they work?are there any other options?which ones are the best?what do other people with 'no bottom' do?

i cant believe im saying it but i want my bottom back:o:o:o:o

Congrats on the weight loss, I find the sheepskin seatavers the most comfortable although I don't use anything at the moement as I think my bum has hardened up:D

Heather's is the best and well worth the money. You can pick them up on ebay (but make sure that they're genuine, they aren't all!) but they go for almost as much as a new one (sometimes more).

(3 seat bones? Is that a typo or are you being 'delicate'? Don't answer that ;) ).

i agree with getting a seat saver - did you take a while off riding?

i have just started riding properly again since the summer and everything hurts!!

i havent been riding much but had managed to carry on once or twice a week. now im riding nearly every day again i can hardly bare to sit in the saddle if ive ridden the day before its so painful?

ive been looking at the prolite ones as well, are they any good?

they look easier to put on and move from saddle to saddle. they are about the same price as the heather moffat ones

i have a sheepskin numnah as i needed something as i lost weight off my bum also and was feeling a bit sore and it works a treat, i know what you mean though about wanting your bum back i do miss it when riding.

your saddle needs to fit you as well as your horse

now your seat bones are what is measured when you are being measured for your saddle and i doubt they have changed so a seat saver might be the answer

when i went along for a saddle fitting i had to sit in a vice kind of thing which was wound out and inwards til i could feel it resting on my seatbones then it was measured to find out whether i need a wider saddle or a narrower one

get a couple of saddles and sit on them and you will find that some are more comfortable then others then look at the width across where your bum is and thats the saddle for you

now this may be a bit rude but im going to say it - if your lady area starts to hurt - its because your public bone is banging against the saddle - i had this problem ended up with rashes and too sore to sit down i changed saddle and it was soooo relieving!!! - i dont wish that problem on anyone!!!! but its seriously to do with different saddles
