our mare developed a swelling on her nose about a week after getting her, although my daughter mentioned afterwards that she thought she may have had it before we brought her but a bit smaller:rolleyes: certainly did not notice it before. Anyway, she was vetted and that did not pick it up.
It is about the size of a grape, soft and can be squashed, a couple of inches above the nostril just left of the nose bone, does not seem to be painful and no mucus from nostril or signs of ill health. Has had it for about 3 weeks without any further changes, someone mentioned that it could be a haematoma from a knock but wouldn't that have gone down by now? any ideas? thanks Wendy

My horsey knowledge isn't great but I have a medical background. From your description it sounds like some kind of non-infected cyst. I'm afraid I have no idea what a vet would advise.

Vet booked for Sunday morning, I think it may be a bit smaller and still no change with regards to nasal discharge or pain, will let you know, cheers
