Halfhalt Help!

Hi. I REALLY need help witha half halt. first of all, what is it? Secondly how do you do one? PLEASE HELP ME!! THANX!:)

a half halt slows a horse and is a way to get there attention like if you are going to change transistion.

to do it you squeeze the reins to get the attention but keep on pushing forward with you lower leg.

Half halts are also used to bring the horse off the forehand and to make them back off when they are rushing or to re-balance them if they are not carrying themselves properly. I've heard them described as the aspirin of the dressage world!:D

L'ilfilly, I love your horse pics and would LOVE to know how you got them into your text. I've read all the site instructions and other info, but just can't get it - please tell me what you're doing.

hey people!
it is darci only i changed my name! guess what people? I JUMPED! isn't that awesome?! It was at a trot and really low but still, I JUMPED! what you do, is go to a site called www.horseland.com and regisster. it is a sim game, but has awesome pix. go to horses, it is at the top. pick a horse, stallion, quarter horse is a popular one. do not do id # or name. when it comes up, click on different horses. have an active folder on your desktop ready. when you find a pic u like, right click and choose save target as... save it to your desktop folder. when you have one you have done that, come here or where ever you want to go. at the bottom it should say attach file and stuff, click browse. when you are there find your folder. double click on the name of your pick. when you are back here, click submit. there you go! ttyl and hope that helps. msg me sometime ppl @ canterqueen977 that is.
