Can anyone tell me why grackle nosebands arent allowed in BD competitions, need to know for a assignment at college but cant find anything on the website just that you cant use them.
So any help would be great thanks :)

I'd say its probably because it's a training aid, like a martingale. And I know martingale's aren't allowed in Dressage.
I could be wrong, but thats what I think it is. I'm a showjumper, not a dressage-er so there we go. (:

You're allowed them for eventing dressage, but not BD. I've always assumed it's because a well schooled & obedient horse that accepts the contact properly shouldn't need one. Perhaps eventers are allowed to be a bit more mutinous :D

Yeah your right its classed as a training aid, well in effect. In a dressage test you are supposed to show you horse moves in a free correct manner accepting the bit and contact freely (wish some1 would tell my boy that). A grakle hampers this because it stops them crossing the jaw so is therefore considered, they are only listening to you because they are being made to by a false constraint. Think thats how you would put it any way!!
