Hi everyone, I have a slight problem having one leg longer than the other and I need to find some thick stirrup rubbers so that I can raise one stirrup up on one side. If anyone has any suggestions on where or best way to do this I would be very grateful. It is not a huge difference, only an inch, but enough for me and my neddy to know about it.:)

Hi Kirky,
I don't know of any extra thick flat stirrup treads but could you use a slanted stirrup tread for your shorter leg and a flat tread for your longer leg? It wouldn't be ideal but might give you more ideas for the future?

Why don't you just punch a half hole on one side? That way you can keep your stirrup rubbers. If it's a leather leather, just punch it with a leather punch. If it's nylon, heat up a nail and it'll go right through the nylon.

That would make the leathers look uneven and I could get marked down for dressage by the judge apparently.Leather also stretches so I have had a go at chopping up a slanted rubber which gives me a half inch raise on one side. Thanks for replies anyway.:)

Hi again
I've been thinking about possible solutions to your problem and wondered whether cutting up a stirrup pad for an endurance stirrup would do? At least that way you could have two treads made of similar material and it would be a flat surface for your to ride on - better than two sloped treads joined together?
Here's what I mean:

nope, have ridden uneven for years (scolisoisis so I tend to ride with my left stirrup one hole longer but it feels even to me). never got marked down for it in fact won a lot of dressage. The judge will rarely notice a difference of an inch they are too busy watching you ride and making your test. Punch a hole and work away x
