Can they be chucked in the washing machine?
If not, what's best to clean them with? Thanks!

I just shove mine in a bucket of water, swish it about and it comes out spotless! Easy peasy.

We hose them (high pressure) after each use - gets the mud and sweat off. It is muddy where we go though and they need to be cleaned after each use this time of year

I go with the pressure washing option. Brings them up lovely!!

Eventerbabe - it's the cob one. What temp did you wash yours on?
Flopsypop - just water? Or with a cleaning product?

on thorowgood's website, the cob girth is the only one that doesn't say machine wash, so I'm guessing that's a no no!
I've got the airoform dressage and I run it under the tap if its just a bit sweaty. If its got muddy I use hand soap and a nailbrush!

The cob one is exactly the same as the normal one (except the split at both ends). I've machine washed my normal thorowgood girth a couple of times and it comes out fine, but sometimes a bit soapy still.
It doesn't do your washing machine any good thought! I would just scrub it with a stiff brush and soapy water then hose off, personally.

I used to soak mine in warm water in the bath for a bit, attack it with a softish nailbrush then rinse it off & hang it up for a bit. Brought it up nice :)

Fire it in a pillowcase in the washing machine then rinse and spin tha machine afterwards.
Been doing mines now for years!!! had the same girth for three years and if there wasnt a little bit of discolouration on the buckles you would never know it wasnt new :D
