I got mine but it doesnt look like the one I was expecting.

It got three buckle buttons with the word 'Pat Pending' and 'Front' in the smooth area that look like it should be facing 'back' and the 'hook' facing front.

I check the website and realise that there are two versions - one is the Original and the other the Professional Barnes Buckle.
I would have got the Professional if I had known.

What does yours look like?

And what is the difference between Original and Professional?

I hope I have not been fob off with a old design with the words in the wrong places.

Could someone post pics of your buckle close in the stirrups straps and on the horse.

I hope I dont sound too fussy:o

I've got the 'professional' Barnes Buckles.

I think the main difference is the 'professionals' are slightly smaller/less bulky.

They only have two stud fasteners.

Mine are normal ones I think with 3 studs.

The front plate has just front written on it. The tab that goes through the stirrup iron is part of the front plate and goes from front to back through the stirrup. The front tab also has the attachment for the stirrup leather.

The back plate is shorter (sits below the bit where the leather would go through) and has a hole for the tab from the front plate going through the stirrup. It has Pat Pending and Back written on it.

Don't know if the design has been modified at all, though I work on the basis that I don't really care as long as it works :)

Just wonder how much did the professional cost?

Update: Found price on a differnet website.
