View Full Version : Road studs on hoof boots?

Daffy slipped earlier. And when I say slipped, I mean he almost completely lost his front end to the floor. He was wearing his G2's, his back end stayed where it was fine, but it took him a couple of feet to recover his front end.

I have no idea what caused it, this is the first time he's slipped, although he often misses a step if that makes sense, just him being clumsy. I got off because we were close to home anyway, but he didn't slip again.

Is it possible to get some sort of road studs for the boots if this turns out to be a regular occurance?

What sort of surface were you on? G2's are generally pretty good for grip. I suspect it would be difficult to stud them but you can with boas and epics which aren't nearly as good.

blimey he must have been doing something to slip in his G2s  i've seen J, with his boas up front and G2s behind nearly split himself in two loonying about a wet clayey field cause the grip behind was so good :p

I don't think you can officially stud them, just wondering if there was something you could add... hmm!

Just your average road. We've ridden down it before as well, even with a lot of surface water, and no trouble. Friend riding behind said he was on the sides though? So perhaps he was his clumsy self and got his feet in a muddle. I really have no idea how he managed it.
