My new Barefoot Cheyenne arrived today, its so nice,I love it :D
I just have a question about the pommel, from what I have read most people take out the fibreglass one and replace it with something soft.
I am a bit concerned that it might cause pressure points but while I was riding I stuck my hand under it and it doesn't seem too tight but is it better to take it out and replace it with something else just in case? And what sort of thing would you replace it with?
And a photo of Chunky modeling it,

I found the pommel was fine on mine (nice fit for Alfie) but the cantle was causing some pressure (was riding along with fingers underneath it..not perfect as altered my balance slightly so might have given a slightly false impression but gave me an idea of whether there was pressure or not) so I have left the pommel in for the moment and stuffed the cantle with a bag full of polystyrene beads (the kind you fill big beanbags with). Seems to work well as it disperses pressure better than a solid filling. A lot of people stuff them with fabric or with kapok (toy stuffing).
