The only one I can think of near Sheff is Darryll Thickett. He now lives at a place called Carlton Forest in Worksop. Not sure of the number but would have thought it would be in the yellow pages or something? Other than that Hannah-Esberger-Shepherd may do classical dressage not sure. :)

Emma Lethbridge - http://www.hoof-and-paw.co.uk/

Damian Stenton - http://www.equestrian-training.co.uk/

Both excellent if you're looking for classical trainers.

If you're interested in classical riding Heather Moffett is doing a demo at Smeltings on 30th April - http://www.equestrian-training.co.uk/Demonstration%2008.htm

Hannah is BD rather than classical.

Yes I have had Emma out a few times and she is amazing and certainly knows her stuff. Also Damien is excellent too as had him out to try out the Fheonix a few months back in August.

Thanks for the details of the Heather Moffett demo, am a sheffielder who defected to North Notts:o, Darryl is actually at Lound near Retford. PM me if you want his contact details, or visit BD website and look under trainers. He is not classical tho' as such, neither is Hannah. There's also Hannah and Becky Moody from Penistone way. All can be found in BD trainer's database. They are all slightly different and it depends who floats your boat. If interested I would ask if you could go and watch a training session before booking a lesson, different trainers relate in different ways and you will have a better idea who is right for you.

Apart from Emma Lethbridge and Damian Stenton there's also Nicola Luke in Wakefield who also has an Equisimulator which she gives lessons on. Haven't got her contact details with me but can get them.

Have you ever had a lesson with Emma, Jo? She's very good :) You could probably have a lesson with her on Saff when you're up if you wanted (before you pass out at the thought, Saff is a grown up girlie these days and is being very well behaved :) ).

Emma comes highly recommended from me. :)

Never been able to get hold of Nicola, although I'm not entirely sure why, I think she might just be busy with various things.

I have lessons from a lady called Lisa Lane, she is based near Shepley but comes down to the south side of Sheffield for me & another lass on the yard. She is particularly into side saddle dressage, we just have lessons astride although I'd love to have a go at side saddle. I love the way she teaches, she isn't into gadgets/short cuts at all, we've been building Mrs P up very gradually using lots of long & low work and work designed to make her more relaxed & supple. Seems to be going very well! She also used to work with Malcolm Pyrah so knows a thing or two about jumping, we'll be doing some more of that over the summer ;)

Echo Iron Maiden's recommendation for Lisa Lane. She focuses on very correct work and really knows her stuff. I used to have lessons with her and always found her to be very good.

I can definitely vouch for the results based on how well Mrs P is going these days.

I was the year above Lisa at school. We know one another very well. Right pair of old cripples we are, Lisa with her back and me with my legs! Bumped into her at the BD convention for first time in years. Said she knew I was judging as some of her students kept bringing dressage sheeets back with my name on them. Small world.
