My niece has been given the opportunity to ride a wonderful little sec A but it's currently sharing tack with another pony which is in ridden work and I don't want to take advantage of the kindest of the owner and stop the other pony from being ridden because it's tack in use.
I was therefore if the agreement goes well over the next couple of weeks was thinking I may invest for my niece in a little cheap synthetic saddle, was initially thinking about a cub saddle but thought after reading another post this may not be the best idea. I noticed someone, eml recommended the Shires synthetic ones, they do a bambino childs saddle, which is basically a cub saddle from what I can see, then a hi-lite bambino (1st picture) which seems more saddle like with knee rolls etc - would this be a better option??
All advise welcome :)
Or we could just go for the pink one ;)

You may like to take a look at the Wintec 500 Junior All Purpose Saddle with CAIR (http://www.countrywidefarmers.co.uk/pws/ProductDetails.ice?ProductID=1644) or the Wintec Kids Saddle (http://www.countrywidefarmers.co.uk/pws/ProductDetails.ice?ProductID=1646) depending on the size of the pony.
Countrywide website currently have 15% off saddles as part of their 15% OFF ALL EQUESTRIAN SUPPLIES* promotion, and delivery is free to UK mainland addresses. Please note that this offer ends on March 1st 2008.
Hope this helps!

Are they treed saddles?
Never seen them before!
When i used a saddle (which wasn't often) it was a treed saddle but my Sec A was a bit of a flat backed barrel. Try saying that fast!
I actually quite like cub saddles! I have ridden in one but the same with any round pony, the rider needs to be pretty well balanced otherwise the saddle slips round. Although with a small kiddie rider perhaps that wouldn't make too much difference?
Sorry this was probably no help at all!

we have a sec a and he wears a maxam (spl) synthetic 14" which is lovely
fits him nicely and HER tiny bum
its faux suede so she doesn't slip around and its comfy fro them both
we tried a cub saddle but neither got on that well with it but not sure why to be honest
I then got a balancing strap from Ebay for about a fiver and attached that to the d rings - works a treat!
plus the bigger kids can hop on him when needed (bigger, I mean 10/11 year olds)
