today i took my horse that i have had for 5 months to his very first show, we went and done dressage.

the morning started out great he was in a great mood, however we then had to box hmmmmmmmmm well this didnt go very well, mac is 17.2 and doesnt like trailers much to start with, my friends was letting me go in hers as it is bigger. mac decided that he could just stand at the bottom of the ramp and not move. after a lunge line was put under his bum he decided he could just jump over the ramp, he is not scared just stubborn :) i was all for giving up as we had tried everything and i didnt want to stress him as he has had a bad past. my friend talked me into one more time and she actually lifted each leg in turn for him up the ramp then he gave up and walked on 1 hour after we had started.

got to the show and he is one of those noisy horses at shows that gets on everyones nerves but he went into his class and was better then i expected for his first show he is scared of his own shadow but did well with the car and horn and people in viewing gallerie.

the best part was he walked on to the trailer at the end of the show like a little angel. i am so proud of him

i have included a picture for you all to see please no critisim on my riding i know my position is shocking but the show was all for him and his confidence.

i have had an on going battle getting muscle on him since i bought him but i have had him on blue chip for 4 weeks and welcome comments about his weight :)

sorry its so long but so proud of him i had to tell everyone :D:D:D:D

helenhorse this is the horse you helped to name, this is my handsome stranger

Congratulations! Glad to hear it went well and that the hard work and persistence paid off! Keep going and to my eye he doesn't look too bad for muscle at all considering what you have been doing. Muscle takes ages to get!

thank you the change in him since starting blue chip has been amazing before he was like a toast rack :( i have also started riding him all the time in a dressage saddle so that he can use his shoulders more and he is starting to build muscle around his wither also
