Just wanted to see what people think of my pony's jumping and if you think he'll be able to jump any higher than he is in the pics if you can get any idea from the pics.

The second one is the biggest i've had him over as thats the biggest our jumps go, and was only his second time over that height.

Please no critique on the rider as it isnt me.

Looks like he has a good jump!

The only critique I could give would be to make sure that he is given plenty of rein, as in these pictures it looks like the lack of rein is restricting his movement slightly!

Ditto.

He jumps beautfully though ... basculing, though he could be more relaxed into the shape (which may well come with more rein and back freedom).
With quality time and schooling his technique and confidence will surely develop - keep up the good work! :-D

Thanks i agree about the rein length, i end up doing the same but its getting better so hopefully with more practice we'll both end up better.

Yep its louie he's nearly 6 now times flown by cant believe how much he's come on not just jumping but flat aswell he can now do a bit of shoulder in, quarters in and leg yield.

Hes a poppet!!:eek::D
He looks like a very clean jumper,as others have spotted,hes a tad restricted in the head,due to not enough give with the hands from the rider,he's a lovely handsome chap.:D

I like him.

He could do with lifting his knees higher (as could my horse, drives me mad! lol) but he tucks his legs tightly so seems careful. His technique should improve with schooling and practice, try grid work to tighten up his front end.

He can easily go a lot higher, look at the air he's given them!! Try a bit of affiliated with him (better courses and distances generally) and see how he goes, but he's got a lot of potential i think :)

Yeh he is very careful has never knocked a fence since i started teaching him last year.
Very much doubt he'd be able to affiliated cant even get him round a course at competitions not even clear round he just stops and refuses to jump or runs out which he never does at home, at clinics he's fab aswell but get him to a show and he's a sod! Really dont know why so any ideas or ideas to get him better would be very helpful!
Might be because really he's only a baby will be 6 in may and only really been jumping for a year and not very often.
