My horse, who is in light work, a good weight for the time of year, and who has a permanent excess of energy, gets a double handful of speedibeet twice a day, plus her daily dose of Global herbs Supercalm, a generous handful of chopped hay/straw to bulk it out, a good handful of Hi-fi and another good handful of Dorrel and Hobson's Safe and Sound (not because she's laminitic but because it provides fibre without excess energy) plus a couple of chopped carrots. If I ever manage to get her back into medium work I will slowly introduce some Cool Mix. She also gets ad-lib hay. My daughter's loan pony, who we are working on getting much fitter, gets ad-lib hay plus a daily feed of two small scoops of Competition Mix, two handfuls of apple chaff and a handful of pony nuts in his horse-ball.

Joy is a 7 year old 14hh3 Welsh Section D in light work living out 24/7. She usually has a rain sheet on to keep her a bit cleaner although that hasn't been on for a while as it has been dry so there isn't loads of wet sticky mud for her to roll in.

Hay wise she shares a bale a day with her 2 field mates as the is not a lot of grass left.

She also gets a level round scoop of Alpha A lite
1 medium shovel scoop of Hi Fibre Nuts
Seaweed
Pink Powder
Magnesium Oxide

all dampened down with water.

I am on the whole happy with her weight which has dropped of a bit ready for spring but it wouldn't hurt her to lose a bit more.

In summer I cut out the nuts, swap back to Hi Fi Lite again and halve the amount of that she gets so it is just a token feed to be able to pop her suppliment in although in summer she generally isn't even interested in that
