So, I decided to clip Ozzy's (Sheltand) little fat tummy and neck before I do much more work with him. I have nice new clippers and he is a calm little thing happy; to stand still while I fumble around - I am a virgin clipper:o
Well, it is a good thing I started on the underside of his tum where only the ants can see. Two minutes of clipping and the blade was blunt - aaagghhhhh!

I had to tidy it up with a pair of scissors. His coat must be 4cm thick.

What on earth do I use to get it done - hedge clippers?!!

Any blade recommendations gratefully received. Thanks

Ive had resonable success with sheep blades on a pony with a really thick coat. I used the sheep ones then went over it again with the horse blades.

What kind of clippers do you have? Do they do coarse blades for them?

Clip in the opposite direction from what you would normally clip (instead of from the base of the neck up the way, go from the ears down) to get the rough stuff off. Then go back to normal clipping.
