How many of you receive tuition from a specialist BD or BSJA instructor?

I get lessons every fortnight with my regular instructor who is excellent but quite fancy getting someone else out to give me some advice.

Has anyone any experience with trainers from these organizations?

xx

I know of the best dressage instructress ever! Where Mr Kimble was :p Need to persuade your dad to get you the trailer

The trailer discussion is getting better each week lol.

The girl at BMW is trying to get my dad to take out a bigger 4x4 and my dad keeps asking why he should get it if I will only use the trailer once a month lol.

Spent nearly 2 hours in Nandos going over it lol.

I think there is no comparison between your avarage BSHAI (no offence anyone) and a properly trained instructor of II standard. There is even more benefit to using one who is a specialist in your chosen discipline.

I have two instructors. Both are dressage specialists, worth every penny and strangely not significantly more expensive than the AIs in the same area

I used to have lessons with a BD trainer and he was very good :D

I'm more into classical riding/dressage now so will have lessons with an EET and go down to Heather Moffett's for courses when I can.

Like anything though there are good and bad in every sphere. I know some well known BD trainers that I wouldn't touch with a bargepole.

my trainer isn't on the BD's list BUT she competes very successfully and has points up to prix st georges. I've never regretted starting lessons with her. I like her manner, i like her teaching style and she really suits toby and i. We've achieved more in 2 years with her than 10 with a BHSII. There are people on BD's register i wouldn't touch. One i know "won't teach cobs" it really is trial and error. I'd actually be inclined to go for word of mouth recomendations and see if you can go along and watch the trainer give a lesson or two. That's how i met my trainer :) she taught a friend of mine and i went along to watch one evening. Never looked back since!

Do watch the BMX 4x4's, even the X5 can only tow 2400kg which is pitiful......

If I could've affored it at the time, when I had Stumpy - I wouldv'e gone for specific dressage lessons.

I've had lessons with a SS champion though, that felt special :o :D

My local trainer and one of the visiting folk are BD trainers. The other person I train with regularly is from Ireland and trains their pony/jr/YR and para folk.

The person I trained my advanced horse with (prior to her maternity leave) competes internationally for GB but is not a BD trainer as such.

Its a BMW dealer, but I am trying to convince him that a lovely big Range Rover will do quite nicely lol. However I have a sneaky suspicion that I might be told a very nasty place to go and that a Shogun/Discovery will be in order.

Other than that it will be a bigger CRV
