Hey Everyone,
I was curious as to whether anyone here has heard of William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. I just applied for admission there but I've never actually been there before . William Woods was the first university to offer a Four year Equine Science degree. They have a very hands on approach to learning and have a very in-depth applied riding program. The Equine Science students choose a concentration in either Hunter/Jumper, Saddle Seat, Dressage, or Stock (Western). They also have a major in Equine Administration which deals with the business end of the Equine industry (The offer minors in both Equine Science and Equine Administration). They host many shows at the University and travel to different shows too (Including A circuit shows), any of the students in the Equine Studies programs can participate.
I'm really excited about going to this school. I have been riding since I was ten and have worked with horses for quite a bit, and it is my dream to make a career working with horses. Growing up my parents never had enough resources to get me any sort of advanced riding instruction, and only recently have I been able to own my own horse, so I have never showed before. I was concerned that because of this I would never be able to get ahead and make it in the Equine Industry. But at The Woods the courses start at square one and work up to very advanced levels. With some hard work and determination I believe that I'll be able to make it in the Equine Industry.
I'm not going to be able to visit the campus until April, but I'm pretty excited about attending. If you guys know anything about the University I'd love to hear what you have to say.
